# Prohairesis

> Art you can collect, change, and keep. Each artwork has a small neural network stored on Ethereum. Collectors' choices train shared models that help shape the next choices available to everyone.

## Mint, evolve, freeze

- Mint: create your artwork. Minting lasts 24 hours, and you can mint 1–10 pieces per transaction. Read the current price from the contract; wallet network fees are extra.
- Evolve: choose one of four changing branches to change your artwork. Each piece can evolve up to three times in its lifetime, and the third evolution freezes it automatically.
- Freeze: keep the artwork's current form forever. Evolving is optional: freeze immediately after minting, or after one or two evolutions. You can freeze up to ten pieces together. Freezing cannot be undone, but the animation keeps playing.

All pieces share one freeze deadline: 7 days after minting begins. A freeze or third evolution must confirm before that deadline to keep the piece transferable afterward. Missing it permanently prevents transfers, even if you freeze later.

Before using the contracts, check the [deployment configuration](/prohairesis-deployment.json). If `address` or `fromBlock` is null, the live collection is not ready. Every mint, evolution, or freeze needs wallet authorization.

## Deployment details

Network: Ethereum mainnet (chain ID 1). Mint, evolve, and freeze all use the NFT contract below.

Connected contract: Prohairesis-test (PROH-test). Prohairesis has not launched. This is a testing connection; transactions on Ethereum mainnet use real ETH.

Mint price: 0.004 ETH per piece, plus network fees. Mint 10 pieces maximum per transaction.

History starts at NFT deployment block 26142910. These are deployment facts, not a statement that minting is currently open; compare the dates with current chain time. [Refresh the deployment configuration](/prohairesis-deployment.json) and read current contract state before acting.

Transfer cooldown: 6 blocks after each evolution or freeze. Read `TRANSFER_LOCK_BLOCKS()` from the target contract.

## How to interact with the contract

Use the NFT address and chain ID in the deployment configuration, and the [contract ABI](/agents/abi.json).

- Mint: call `mint(quantity)` with exactly `MINT_PRICE() * quantity` in wei. Check `mintStart()` and `mintEnd()` first.
- Evolve: read `state(tokenId)` and preview `candidate(tokenId, lane, blockNumber)` for lanes 0–3 at the same block. Call `select(tokenId, lane)` with no ETH. The branch can change before the transaction confirms.
- Freeze: call `freeze(tokenId)` or `freezeBatch(tokenIds)` with no ETH. A batch accepts 1–10 distinct, unfrozen pieces and succeeds only if every piece can be frozen. Check `freezeDeadline()` first. Only the owner or their authorized creative manager can evolve or freeze a piece.

## Read artwork and follow changes

Reads need an Ethereum RPC connection, but no project API key or connected wallet. Gallery examples are demonstrations, not live collection data.

- Current artwork: use `state`, `genome`, `tokenURI`, and `tokenHTML` for its status, network weights, image metadata, and animation.
- Ownership: use `Transfer` events to find token IDs, then confirm each with `ownerOf`.
- Latest evolutions: read `ArtworkRecorded` events with action 1. Use `ArtworkFrozen` for freezes and `LearningUpdated` for shared model changes.
